Responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on the construction or operational sites, ensuring all work complies with safety standards, project specifications, and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Below are the key responsibilities of an electrician job.

  • Install, wire and connect electrical systems including distribution boards, conduits, cables, lighting, power outlets and earth systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and single line diagrams
  • Test and commission electrical installations in accordance with project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults on site or on operational facilities
  • All works shall be carried out in accordance with DEWA regulations, IEC standards, and project-specific requirements.
  • Liaise with MEP supervisors, engineers and other trades on site
  • Keep detailed records of work done, materials used and any observations on site.
  • At all times adhere to and enforce health, safety and PPE requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built markups as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Trade certificate or diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent vocational qualification
  • 3-5 years of practical experience as an electrician preferably in UAE construction or FM
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of DEWA regulations and electrical codes in the UAE
  • UAE electrician trade licence is an advantage.
  • Able to work on site and reliable and safety conscious
  • Basic English speaking skills
